First Azerbaijani earns Doctoral Degree from School of Oriental and African Studies, London University

Azerbaijani violinist Sabina Rakcheyeva, has been awarded a PhD in Music and Cultural Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London), making her a first Azerbaijani musician receiving a Doctorate

Baku, January 31 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani violinist Sabina Rakcheyeva, has been awarded a PhD in Music and Cultural Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London), making her a first Azerbaijani musician receiving a Doctorate from this prestigious School. Sabina is also a first Azerbaijani to be accepted and graduate from a world famous music institution, The Juilliard School (New York). Her newly released album ‘UnVeiled’ is a cross-cultural mix of improvisations on western classical and eastern traditional music. In addition to performing, Sabina is a member of the European Cultural Parliament, and serves on the Advisory Board (Arts&Culture) at the European Azerbaijan Society.
